As someone who has chronic health issues, this can impact daily life when it flares up, not just my art.
Dealing with Asthma, Hay fever and IBD-Crohn's means I need to make sure I stay healthy, as if I don't, I can end up in the emergency room or a longer stay in the hospital.
With my asthma, I need to make sure this is managed by having my inhaler on me, and when I use certain products need to have more open flow air in the studio. This is so that fumes don't get breathed into much and cause an attack.
This also ties into my hay-fever, as I need to make sure when the air goes through the studio, pollen can come through the door and can cause a lot of sneezing and can react with my asthma, so I need to make sure I use my antihistamines.
This can cause issues if I need to sneeze while I paint, and it can create an issue with my paintings.
The big health issue I have is my Crohn's Disease. This can impact my art as if I have a bad flare-up, I am unable to paint, as I will either be in pain, on the toilet most of the day or end up in the hospital.
I also get Crohn-related arthritis, so this can make it hard to paint as it tends to be mainly in my wrists, fingers, knees and ankles rather than other parts of the body.
This means that it makes things harder to do when this flares up, and makes activities harder to achieve as I am in pain.
This means that I don't really have an immune system, so I need to be careful with flu season as I get sick easily; however, when I get sick, I tend to paint to relax, so this helps me a lot with this.
